Septic Tank Unbelievable Stories

Unbelievable Septic Tank Stories!

WHEN SEPTIC TANKS MAKE THE NEWS – A HORSE, A DOG, AND TWO UNBELIEVABLE RESCUES

You wouldn’t expect septic tanks to make the news, but recently, two wild stories out of New South Wales have reminded us just how important these hidden systems really are, and how quickly things can go wrong.

From a stranded horse to a man rescued by a dog and a teenager, these incidents remind us that septic systems, while essential, can become dangerous if not properly maintained.

HORSE FALLS INTO SEPTIC TANK IN JEREMADRA, NSW

As seen in the Daily Telegraph

On a farm in Jeremadra, a mare somehow managed to fall straight into a septic tank. Only her head and neck were visible, a seriously scary sight for anyone on the property.

Luckily, the SES, RFS, and a local towing crew stepped in. With some straps, a bit of teamwork, and a trusty excavator, they lifted her out carefully. The horse got checked by a vet and is expected to recover just fine.

But it’s a reminder for all of us on rural properties.  Septic tanks need secure lids. You don’t want a surprise like that waiting in the paddock.

DOG AND TEENAGER SAVE TRAPPED MAN IN TERREY HILLS

    Reported by 7News.com.au

Meanwhile in Sydney’s Terrey Hills, a contractor got trapped headfirst in a septic tank. Water started rising fast, and it could’ve turned deadly, but a local border collie named Spot heard the man shouting for help.

Spot ran and got the family’s 13-year-old son, who quickly called emergency services. After a tense 40-minute rescue, the man was pulled out with only minor injuries.

It’s a real-life reminder: always be extra careful around septic systems.

These close calls might sound like something out of a movie, but they’re 100% real.

Make sure septic lids are secured and clearly marked especially if you’ve got animals or kids around.

    • Never climb into a tank unless you’re properly trained and it’s safe to do so. Leave that to us!
    • If you’re unsure when your tank was last checked… it’s probably time.
